Ghosn said he expected Nissan to sell about 600 to 700 Leafs a month as
long as the vehicle is exported from Japan to the U.S. Nissan plans to
launch U.S. production in December at its plant in Smyrna, Tenn.; the
company received a $1.4 billion low-cost federal government loan to
build the Leaf in the United States.

It might save some of the jobs when gm goes belly up again.

It looks like gm is being closed down slowly and then it is good to have an alternative for those being laid off.

I am not sure if leaf is the best choice.

BMW is coming out with a new ev and they say they will make money on it.

When real companies begin to produce evs in earnest there will be an increased interest.
